Unfiltered Soul is the brainchild of Doug Wilcox from Newark, N.J, Rob Alahn from Chicago, Ill, and NoriTraxx from Nagasaki, Japan. The name Unfiltered Soul was derived from our love of Nigori Unfiltered Sake. One late afternoon, Doug brought a bottle of this goodness over to Rob's house. We were doing an impromptu recording with some deep house music. During this recording, we got tipsy and decided to dedicate the mix to the drink - Unfiltered Sake, Unfiltered Soul sessions. This became a ritual and we started naming all of our recordings using this brand. This was later changed to "Unfiltered Soul" because we thought this had a much better ring to it. Moreover "Unfiltered Soul", represents our overarching philosophy and approach to music and life. We live and DJ full bore. We don't filter, edit or rehearse the lives we live or the music we play. Inspired by those things that matter--we move.
